Open Question: what jeep wrangler is best for me ? I've always wanted a jeep wrangler, but I definitely need one compatible to my style, I love off-roading and need it to withstand the wear and tear of going through deserts and beaches and if I wanted to road trip and take a detour I could. I drive lots of heavy duty vehicles in the military but I need a civilian one for me. but I don't want a big one, I don't want to pay gas for all the extra seating I'll never use. I also want it automatic cuz I have too many pals who claim they can teach me in a day and never do and plus i drive in the city a lot. I already have a 2004 toyota corolla s and love the smoothness of it. so until they make a mini fj cruiser thats a 4 seater I still want a jeep wrangler. -also I plan to lift it and do some interior work, but yeah I'm looking for a comfy but hardcore jeep
Voting Question: Can I drift an FJ Cruiser or a Toyota Sienna? I know that they're both FWD automatic cars, but I've looked up on Youtube and there was this guy that was drifting FWD cars fine. I changed head light bulbs, and check all of my fuzes; now my 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser will not shift out of park, and the ABS, Engine, Traction Control, and VSC lights are not shutting off. I was not told it had been in a major wreck when I purchased it. I just learned about this - seven months after purchase - because a body shop mechanic was helping me with a portion on the body that seemed to have slightly detached. This tipped us off and upon further extensive investigation, it was learned that there were significant repairs done to the car (over $500). My questions are: 1. How do you find out if there was a wreck? I have paid money for a vehicle history report at wreckcheck. com and nothing came up.I need advice! What website can I go to to be guaranteed that it will reveal the accident- or is this even possible? 2.Is it likely that major repairs where done (as the car looks beautiful on the outside but up on a rack you can see the frame is bent and the tires will not align) and it is NEVER reported? 3. The Tiguan (smallr only 23 cuft cargo around 20-30,000$) for just $30 I can get the Wolfsburg (all the works) The Touareg (bigger 32 cu ft cargo around 40,000 Base new. Last Toyota FJ Cruiser, its big enough and has all plastic so nothing gets messy, made a little cheaply looking inside its around 25-30000$ for base. With Toyota im afraid of quality and safety. I have two Boy Siberian Huskies both around 40 lbs now and 1 yr old. But we don't really go to many major outdoor places other then parks (sometimes with lakes) and trails. one more thing, we dont have kids so it is no problem for us to put the backseats down.
Resolved Question: Engine swap in FJ Cruiser? I have a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser and was thinking about throwing a GM 5.3L V8 in place of the stock 4.0L V6. Would this be realistic, or would the wiring and electronic junk be too much hassle? Also, would it require a new transmission or anything? thanks so far guys. It was just an idea. The reason I asked is because I know that the GM LM7 V8 vortec engines actually get better gas milage than the stock 4.0L in the FJ plus it would be more power. I guess i will stick with the V6 and maybe just throw a TRD supercharger on it :)

I live in Ontario - Canada, and I drive a small Toyota Corolla, and I wanted to go on a road trip to Arizona / California for a nice pleasant 3-week vacation. All my friends advised me that everyone down there is unemployed and they will ram you from behind, then either shoot you dead or rob you blind unless you prepare yourself for 'DOOM' !!! What the heck ? They told me that I should buy a Hummer, or maybe a FJ Cruiser, put massive steel bumpers on it front and back, and bumpers on the sides too ( step bars ) so that when local unemployed try to crash into me, I could simply run away and avoid being killed ! Is all of this true? Is all hell breaking out in California now and its not safe for a person to take a nice drive in a simple small Toyota Corolla in California anymore ? I'm sorry if this sounds sort of crazy, but this is exactly the stuff I'm hearing from Canadians these days.
