Open Question: Star Trek blu ray showing wierd blue lines while playing? Just bought the blu ray along with the new Samsung 1600 blu ray player. I am seeing some weird blue/whitish color shades lines appear intermittently. For example- when Kirk meets Uhura in the bar, and many more. I played Harry Potter movie in the same blue ray player, and it runs fine. I exchanged for a new Star Trek blu ray and it still has problems. Could it be because my blu ray player has some difficulty reading only Star Trek blu ray? I have all the updates installed on the player. Thanks!

Open Question: What are the "core" Star Trek novels? I've just jumped into Star Trek on the coattails of the movie, and I'm looking to expand my study of the universe. Like Star Wars has it's "Thrawn Trilogy", Star Trek has to have a 'must-read" series to jump into. Is there a book or series that regardless of what other books you like, everyone agrees that these are the best? If there isn't a clear cut must-read here, then are there other books that are great to start with? There are something like 142 Star Trek Books, and they can't all be great. A caveat to this is that I've only seen up to (not including) Season 6 of DS9, Season 4 of VOY, Star Trek VIII, and none of ENT (watching in order of release), so no post chronology stuff yet. Thanks for the suggestions.

Resolved Question: Atheists: Do you realize that answering "logic" and "reason" don't answer questions? When asked by Christians questions like "why do you not believe Jesus rose from the dead?" or "why do you not believe in God?" some of you default to saying vacuous things like "reason and logic" or "reason and logic and an education" or "because I'm logical". Personally, I think that the sum total of what these particular atheists know about logic they learned from watching old episodes of the original Star Trek series. (Worse yet, they may only know about logic from the latest Star Trek movie.) One thing that they apparently don't know is that saying "logic" or "reason" is not an answer to the question. Logic is simply a tool used to evaluate arguments. Logic by itself provides no answers to arguments. Both sides use logic and reason in this debate and it is certainly not the case that saying you used logic somehow vindicates the atheist position. Open Question: Is it safe ordering movies off ebay? yes im planning to buy some older and new release movies (examples: star trek, finding nemo, transfermers 2, etc) off ebay, is it safe? If it is, i plan to buy more? Even if your not a hip hop fan or Biggie fan (which I never really was but grew up in NYC so it was everywhere) it is an excellent movie ORPHAN---- I thought this was a great thriller flick! Very good and a lot better then I expected. Very good movie UP---- Loved it!! STAR TREK--- I never watched an episode of this & didn't know anything about the movie...but i gotta say this was an excellent movie! SLUMDOG MILLIONARE--- Great Great Great movie!!
