Resolved Question: What reviews does the Ford Focus have? I have a Nissan Xterra that is my only car right now, which I love! I am looking to maybe get another car for better gas mileage for long trips and if my X is in the shop, or vice-versa. I am sort of looking into an older model Ford Focus. I don't know too much about them but have heard that some of the older models have had problems. Can you tell me what you like about your Focus, what you don't like, what problems you have had, and what year it is? I am not looking for a new car, probably a 2000-2005 model and just want to have a heads up. Thanks guys!

(first car)? okay so i have less than a month till im 16 and I'm at a dilemma, I want an suv that can do the things that an suv is supposed to be able to do. (haul stuff go, on trips, and a little off road here and there.) and at first i wanted a nissan xterra, but they get crappy gas mileage. then i wanted a jeep liberty or a ford escape. but there both kinda small. and then i saw the saturn vue. it looked modern and it has great gas mileage but i've read some reviews and allot of people are saying there just trash cans on 4 wheels. i need some help on this one p.s. my budget is around 4500.
Resolved Question: Nissan Xterra - offroading - opinions? Why are they constructed with so much cheap plastic material, cloth interior and so forth yet cost nearly $30k? Other than that quirk (which I could live with if the Xterra is marvelous for offroading), I read so many great reviews on them. I've only driven a 2000 model for maybe the length of a parking lot, so I'm very unfamiliar with them. I look at them thinking it would be an excellent offroad vehicle (I'm not adventurous about offroading - it's to get from pt. A-B on rough terrain (yes, really offroad - not gravel, not well packed dirt - real trails on hills in TN). I've seen plenty of 2000 - 04' Xterra's that look like they hold up for a lifetime (except for the crappy fading bumpers). The 05's and up are a redesign that's bulkier in appearance (Xterra on steroids). Any really experienced Nissan X' owners want to fill me in on these things? I can't help but like them. They seem to be easy maintenance. Heck, they're probably built in Smyrna since Nissan's HQ in Nashville, TN (guessing parts must be reasonably...

I didn't like them too much, but it looks like the Long Trail Tour's are well reviewed. Don't off road, but I do pull a trailer and have the cab pretty packed most of the time!

Resolved Question: Buying a new SUV need opinions? I am going to be buying a new car tomorrow my wife and I have narrowed our search to 2. First is a 2000 Nissan Xterra V6 4x4 with 124,000 miles. The other is a 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition also a V6 3.3cyl. 99,000 miles. So I want to know opinons on quality, gas mileage, etc.. Resolved Question: Whats better - Jeep Cherokee or Nissan Xterra? I am looking ot buy a used suv and I like these two makes and models. The used Cherokee's are much cheaper and I believe they are just a reliable. I really need something reliable and that will last a while. I check edmunds.com for reviews and the cherokee has a lower rating. I was looking at getting a 96-2000 cherokee. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Resolved Question: could use some help choosing the right SUV? I'm looking at purchasing a used SUV in the $10-11k range. (long story, but my mom is buying me a car to make my dad angry and it has to be under $12k after taxes, etc) Which puts me at around a 2003 Hyundia Santa Fe or Honda Element. I like SUVs that are smaller like the Element and Xterra (Nissan). Any other suggestions to look at? I looked at a 2002 Escape but the 02-03 models all seem to have engine trouble according to autos.msn.com (not that that website is the be-all end all to car buying, but the user reviews help) I have a 97 Grand Am presently and I'd like to keep MPG with similar range to what my grand am does 15/25 or better, if at all possible. I'm also looking to get 4-5 years (at least) out of whatever my next car/suv will be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advance
