Open Question: Loss of power and trouble code P0430? Hello, I have a 2000 Nissan maxima. Since the last few weeks I noticed that the car has not been accelerating properly and the car revs to high rpm but there's no increase in speed. Once I hit 60 it seems to ok but I guess it decelerates faster like it has a drag. Today the Service engine light came on with code P0430 indicating the catalytic converter may not be working properly. I have two questions 1. I had my transmission fluid drained and refilled a few weeks back. Since then I noticed the loss in power (I think). Is it possible that loss of power could be simply because of a bad job or not enough transmission fluid? 2. My alternator failed a week back which I replaced. Could this have resulted in a problem in a bad catalytic converter or even something with the oxygen sensor? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks. One more question...could a bad cat converter lead cause loss of performance?

Open Question: Replacing front crank seal and rear main seal. I need urgent advice!? I went to the Nissan Dealership and I was told that I need to replace the front crank seal and the rear main oil seal. They told me that all my belts were saturated and that for the front crank seal it would cost me $301.00 + tax and for the rear main oil seal I would have to pay $805.00 + tax. I would like to know how long I can last without replacing the seals because I am a college student and I am broke. I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE if that helps at all. Thanks for your answers.

Open Question: 2010 Maxima question / Bluetooth? I purchased a 2010 Nissan Maxima. It has bluetooth connectivity. I have a Sprint Palm Pre Phone. The phone pairs up with the Maxima perfectly. I can send and receive calls, however the problem is, I cant send my phones contacts to the Car kit. When I go into the phonebook voice menu, I dont get the option to transfer each contact manually. Also, the phone has a drop down menu that says, "SEND ALL CONTACTS TO CAR KIT" than it prepares the contacts, than its says "UNABLE TO SEND CONTACTS" very strange..... if anyone has this phone and this car, and has been able to make this work, please let me know how. Voting Question: Antifreeze pouring out while I'm filling? My daughter has a 1999 Nissan Maxima. Today she was on the highway and the car started overheating. 2 months ago a mechanic told her she had a hairline crack in her radiator but she never had enough money to fix it and she didn't tell me about it. When the car started overheating, she said it happened fast (she thinks). Also, during her drive to get off the highway and into a parking lot, the car would not accelerate past 50 mph. She filled it with 1 gallon of antifreeze(coolant)/water packaged solution, let it set a little longer, then started the car, let it run in park for 2 minutes and then started overheating again. Tonight we went and poured another gallon of antifreeze/coolant/water into the radiator and while she was pouring it in, solution started running out underneath the car in the area at or near the radiator. We are planning on having it towed in the morning and are expecting to replace the radiator. Is it most likely the radiator thats pouring or could it be something else? Please don't...
