I'm trying to hook up a ps3 and possibly a comcast hd receiver i could find the manual anywhere i couldn't find the manual anywhere
Resolved Question: How can I watch basic cable on my Comcast network with out buying a box? The Setup/Configuration: Cable went out from the wall socket into a Splitter, from the splitter, one line went into a Comcast Cable Modem for internet, and the other cable went directly into the Samsung TV for standard viewing. When I FIRST plugged my TV (Samsung - 32" Class / 720p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV, Model: LN32C450E1D) into the wall, to my surprise I was able to get just about every channel equaling up to ever 90 channels!! AND it WAS NOT using a Comcast cable box!! Amazing!! However, the channels were not in sync with the TV Guide channel, so in order to figure out what channels I had, I sat down and flipped through each and every channel individually and typed up a spreadsheet of the channel numbers and listings. I discovered that the TV formatted the channels as Main channels and Sub-Channels. (For example, Channels 81, 103, & 110 had several Sub-Channels which consisted of the Basic Cable channels like Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, USA, ESPN, TLC & etc. The channels showed up as "Channel...

Resolved Question: How to build a DVR without Clear QAM? I'm looking for tips/answers to a question I have about building my own DRV. My cable company does not broadcast many channels in clear QAM, most are scrambled and require a cable box to receive. The cable company is Comcast. They offer a HD DRV for $15/month however it only has a 120 GB hard drive which can only hold about 20 hours of HD content. I'd much rather have more space. I was looking at the WinTV-HVR-2250 tuner card since it has dual tuners and can do both analog and digital clear QAM. The problem is the cable box is still required to de-scramble the non clear QAM channels. How can I do a dual tuner setup? Is there a way to install CableCARDS into a PC to eliminate the need of a cable box? Or would I have to have two cable boxes in order to record one channel while watching another? I would really rather eliminate the cable box so I don't have to pay the rental fee to Comcast. Two cable boxes would be even worse, and cost more than just sticking with Comcast's DVR.

Resolved Question: Comcast Cost Issues Concerning Converter Boxes? Is there any advantage to buying a digital-to-analog on eBay, or does one have to get it from Comcast for it to work? Does Comcast charge a monthly rental on converter boxes? Also, what costs, all told, are involved with all this? I didn't think this issue would affect me because I have a working HD setup, but the kids have a little DVD/analog TV in the back room and they're not getting their lower numbered channels anymore.
Resolved Question: Using Laptop to Stream Movie onto HD TV? If you have a 720p HD TV and you hook up the HDMI cable from laptop to HD TV(bypassing Comcast cable box), what resolution setting on the laptop should be used to watch movie in highest quality possible? Resolved Question: Why is my modem interfering with my cable.? I am trying to save myself some money and hook my 360 up wired. I moved my modem and new router into the den, but there is only one cable outlet that my comcast HDTV box is connected to. It already has a special splitter that has one "IN" that comes from the wall, one "Power IN" that comes from an outlet and one "TV" that obviously goes to the tv. I used a second splitter that connects to the wall, one "OUT" connects to the first splitter thats connected to the HD setup. It works fine this way until i connect the second "OUT" to my modem, then the tv just goes out, every single channel. Can anyone please help. If my explanation of my problem was confusing then I'm sorry. I just wanted to be as thorough as possible.
Resolved Question: I have a new hd tv 1080p with comcast on the hd channels the info says it's being broadcast in 480p? I would like to know if I need to change my setup to receive a higher resolution say 720p or 1080i or p I have a hdmi cable coming from the tv to the cable box. is it normal to receive an 480p or is my tv not setup correctly
Resolved Question: New Blu-Ray player hook-up -- Help please!? We're trying to run our blu-ray player through our Comcast HD Cable box, and I was wondering once I have the component cables (PbPrY) plugged in to the box, how do I access that auxiliary through the box? (No, pushing the "aux" button at the top of the remote doesn't do it, unfortunately) I also have an HDMI cable (we're not sure whether the HDMI port on the cable box is an in or out, though) but still, same issue. The full system is a cable box into a projector, with surround sound hooked up through a separate DVD setup, if that is of any use. (nope, fancy DVD setup has none of the correct inputs either!) Thanks for your help!
Resolved Question: Did I setup my surround sound the best possible way? I just hooked up a Panasonic SC-BT200 home theater to my Sharp LCD TV. The unit is a 7.1 surround sound with a blu-ray/receiver combo. I called Panasonic during the setup and was advised to do the following: connect Comcast box to TV via HDMI, connect blu-ray/receiver to TV via HDMI, connect blu-ray/receiver to Comcast box via optical digital audio cord. With the recommended setup I was unable to hear anything from any speaker while watching both HD and standard television. I adjusted the Comcast box audio to Advanced but that didn't help. So I ended up rerouting the optical digitial audio cord from the blu-ray/receiver directly to the TV's audio out. I can now hear TV audio from the speakers but I'm not sure if I lost quality. My questions are: 1. Why didn't the recommended setup work? (Comcast box to blu-ray receiver via optical cord) 2. Is sound quality sacrificed if I keep the current setup? (TV to blu-ray receiver via optical cord) Thanks in advance for any help.
Resolved Question: How good is OTA (Over the ari) HDTV? Does anybody actually have an OTA HDTV setup? I always wondered how good the quality is with OTA. Does it really pick up HD signals that are indistinguishable from say, Comcast or Satellite HD?
Resolved Question: Can I hook up a Comcast HD box to 2 different TVs? Ok, my situation is a little weird I guess, so let me explain. In my current setup, I have an SDTV for watching television and an HDTV primarily for gaming. I also have a standard Comcast cable box (one of the small ones with no display, not the main box in the house) hooked up to both TVs via coaxial ports through a splitter. This essentially means that if I turn on both TVs, I will see the same thing on both. I'm interested in getting an HD box from comcast and hooking it up to my HDTV via HDMI cable, but I still want to be able to watch TV on my SDTV as well. Is there a way to hook up the cable box to 2 TVs with 2 separate output methods? I would be hooking it up to my HDTV via HDMI and my SDTV via coaxial cable like the box I currently have. The reason I ask is because sometimes I play games on the HDTV while I watch something on the SDTV. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do that since the box would be outputting a signal through 2 different sources instead of just me splitting the 1 source like I currently...
Resolved Question: How would I go about using an Indoor HD Antenna in addition to my Comcast cable box? Also wondering if anyone knew how to do the same setup but with this DIY coathanger antenna in the link below? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWQhlmJTMzw Thanks in advance.
Resolved Question: Hooking up HD cable box, VCR, and HD TV? I got a new HD cable box from Comcast. I see it could be hooked up directly to the HD TV through the HDMI port (i.e. the setup would be wall coaxial outlet to cable box to TV). My question is can I do a setup where it would be: wall outlet via coaxial to cable box, then cable box via coaxial to VCR, and then VCR via coaxial to the HD TV? Or does there need to be an HDMI cable in there for it work? My VCR is older and doesn't have HDMI ports. Thanks! Tech Dude, with the VCR setup you describe you also mention having an HDMI cable from the cable box to the HD TV....would that be used simultaneously in addition to all the coaxial cables used? Or would
