Open Question: Trouble with Comcast XFinity TV guide and DVR manager website? The page loads fine with all the current times. However, if I choose "primetime" or another time, or even a different date, the page says "loading," then displays a total blank page. I have IE8, and when I tried FireFox, it did the same thing. Even the Comcast techs are baffled, and I'm waiting to hear back from them. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Open Question: How do I find a helpful internet friend with a DVD recorder? Comcast in NJ now has forced us to add a device called a DTA to our TV in order to get shows on cable. I called Panasonic & none of their units are fully compatible with this so that it is now impossible to record shows from TV and to put them on a DVD. I am looking for someone in a different state who doesn't have this DTA connected and who can help me out and record certain shows from TV that I want and put them on to a DVD. I would pay for all expenses involved. I don't want a DVR because it's too complicated to make a DVD from them. TV GUY is wrong. A DVD recorder will absolutely not record shows from a TV if the DTA is connected. Both Panasonic & Comcast have confirmed this. It is the new reality!

Voting Question: how can I hook up VCR with Comcast digital cable box to record shows on one channel while watching another? I was forced to get a digital cable box as part of Comcast's upgrade process. Until now I had the cable out of the wall into a two way splitter, with a cable to the TV and a cable to the VCR. With this hookup I could record shows on one channel while watching another channel. I have been playing around trying to get the same recording ability with the digital cable box. I have not been successful. Is there a way to be able to use my VCR to record programs like I did before the digital cable box entering the equation? I know the VCR is old technology, but my machine works great and fits my recording needs. I really don't want to spend the money for a DVR now. Any help would be appreciated.
Resolved Question: How can i fix a choppy comcast digital signal? The set-up is the main cable from the street comes into my living room and is then split to my living room tv (with a dvr box) and my son's room (little basic black digital box). then from my son's room there is a splitter in there to go to my master bedroom (little basic black digital box). cable works every where except in the master. its REALLY choppy, with the exception of the local channels. ive switched boxes between the 2 bedrooms to see if its a bad box, but what ever was in my sons room worked. so my question is could it be a distance issue? or maybe too many/bad splitters? before everything went digital the signal was good in the master bedroom. thanks for any help. let me clarify. it used to be cable plugged right into the tv. then comcast went digital and we had to get 2 digital cables boxes if we wanted to continue to watch tv in the bedrooms. and the problem is what ever box is plugged into the master bedroom is not working, which means i can take the working one from my sons room and put it in the master...

Resolved Question: why does my cable box randomly reset itself? ok so its got to the point where im ready to drop the $300 or so dollars and get a tivo hd. i have the black motorola hd dual tuner dvr box from comcast. ive switched them out 3 times. yes i said 3 TIMES!!! ugh this is really annoying. ill be in the middle of a show, or paused on a show that i didnt click record on, and it randomly just resets itself, does some creative crap with the digital display then all my programs say to be announced for like 3 hours. i called comcast and they said they only do an occasional update at 3 or so am. and i just had it do it 5 minutes ago (230 pm) thanks alot for any help.

I currently have one TV connected using a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 HDC digital HD DVR box and a second TV connected using a with a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250 HDC digital HD box. I would like to return the 4250 HDC to Comcast and replace it with a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 HDC I plan to purchase from a third party. Before I buy the box will the replacement 8300 HDC work in place of the 4250 HDC?
Resolved Question: Tv problem with comcast? I got a 1080i tv back in 2002 and it has been working fine with comcast and fills up the whole screen. I then recently upgraded to a DVR comcast box instead of the regular HD one. The screen has black borders on all sides and the picture is tiny. Is there anything I can do? Ive tried hitting the hd zoom button on the remote, but it does nothing.
